JuLi Ra grew up in the beautiful islands of Hawaii, and she returned there after getting her degree - in finance! Financial jobs and opportunities were abundant and she was successful (this was the 80's after all) but JuLi longed to do something with her hands that wasn't just 'pushing paper'.

So JuLi moved to New York City to attend a famous French cooking school - yes, cooking school. Cooking was definitely more fun, and positively more creative, but the masterpieces of art on a plate either got consumed or perished!

Her attention to detail and aesthetic aptitude inspired her to create permanent adornments of precious metals, gemstones, and other beautiful findings.

The transition from financial office, to kitchen to workbench may seem incongruous but it made her the artist she is today. Transitioning from the colorful idyllic islands of Hawaii to the fast paced cultural mecca of NYC inspired a masterful blend of energy, passion, grace, and beauty.
